Translation	The Devil made a bet with a Pole, a Russian and a German which of them would train a dog better. After a year, he comes to the Russian. The Russian is thin, his ribs sticking out, and his dog is so fat that it can barely move. The Russian takes a sausage and gives it to the dog and the dog starts begging. Then the devil goes to the German. He is very weak, and his dog – as fat as a pig, with his legs almost horizontal. The German gives the dog a sausage and the dog starts dancing. Finally the devil goes to the Pole. The Pole is so fat that he can hardly fit into an armchair, and the dog can be hardly noticed. The Pole takes a sausage. The devil thinks that he is going to give it to the dog, too, but the Pole starts eating the sausage himself. And the dog starts talking in a human voice: -Give me, please, give me…

Diabeł założył się z Polakiem, Ruskiem i Niemcem, który lepiej wytresuje psa. Po roku czasu przychodzi do Ruska. Rusek, chudziutki, z wystającymi żebrami, a pies spasiony, że ledwo może się ruszać. Rusek wyciąga kiełbasę, daje psu, a ten zaczyna służyć. Potem poszedł do Niemca. Niemiec ledwie trzyma się na nogach, a pies jak beka, łapy ma prawie w poziomie. Niemiec daje mu kiełbasę - pies zaczyna tańczyć. Wreszcie przyszedł diabeł do Polaka. Ten zapasiony, ledwie mieści się w fotelu, a psa prawie nie widać. Polak wyciąga kiełbasę, "pewnie też da psu" myśli diabeł, a on sam zaczyna zjadać. Na to pies odzywa się ludzkim głosem: - Daj mi, ach daj mi...
